Barrie Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the theft of a vehicle from the parking lot of Georgian Mall earlier this week.
A white 2024 Honda CR-V was stolen on Monday, June 15th, after being parked near Entrance 5 on the east side of the Bayfield Street shopping centre.
According to investigators, the vehicle owner parked the SUV at around 1:15 p.m. before entering the mall. When the owner returned shortly before 3:00 p.m., the vehicle was gone.
After searching the parking lot without success, the owner reported the theft to police.
Barrie Police conducted a canvas of the area for surveillance footage but were unable to locate any video evidence related to the theft.
Investigators are now asking anyone who was parked in the Georgian Mall parking lot between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on June 15th to review any dash camera footage they may have captured. Police are particularly interested in any suspicious activity or individuals seen in the area during that time.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the investigating officer by email at mbradley@barriepolice.ca.
The investigation remains ongoing.
