Barrie Police continue to investigate after two people were found dead inside a home in the city’s northeast end over the weekend.
Officers were conducting a well-being check on Saturday, June 20th, when they discovered a dead man and woman inside a residence in the area of St. Vincent Street and Osprey Ridge Road.
Police initially said the two victims were believed to know one another and that the incident appeared to be isolated. A significant police presence remained in the area as members of the Major Crime Unit began investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Barrie Police say they were a 45-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, both from Barrie.
Investigators have not released details regarding the cause of death or the relationship between the two individuals.
Police say they are not currently seeking any suspects in connection with the investigation.
The investigation remains ongoing, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
