Stevenson Memorial Hospital recognized staff and physicians for their contributions to patient care during its Annual Staff Awards Ceremony, held as part of Staff Appreciation Week in June.
The awards celebrate employees and professional staff who demonstrate exceptional dedication, leadership and commitment to the hospital’s patients, families and community.
“Staff Appreciation Week is an opportunity to recognize the remarkable people of Stevenson Memorial Hospital,” says Deepak Sharma, President and CEO of Stevenson Memorial Hospital. “Our Annual Staff Awards Ceremony celebrates the contributions of our staff and professional staff. Their commitment to our patients, families and community makes Stevenson Memorial Hospital a very special place.”
The hospital’s SMH Values Award recognizes employees who exemplify its ICARE values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Nominations were submitted by staff, professional staff, patients, family members and community members.
The 2026 SMH Values Award recipients are:
- Clinical – Lexia Ramjitsingh, Social Worker and Transition Navigator
- Non-Clinical – Tammy Nosad, Stores and Purchasing Clerk
The hospital also presented its Professional Staff Award of Excellence, a peer-nominated honour recognizing a physician or professional staff member who demonstrates leadership, clinical excellence, collaboration and dedication to patient care.
This year’s recipient is Dr. Lauren O’Malley of the Surgery Department.
Other nominees for the SMH Values Award included Roxann Argent, Tricia McEachern, Ashley Hall, Julia Evensen, Dr. Lauren O’Malley, Taya DeNeef, Devon Bond, Leudia Barros, Michelle Florendo-Ferrenbach, Michelle Kennedy, Jackie Cameron, Chris Lee, Erin Yeaman, Meghan McGuire and Nicole Daniels.
Nominees for the Professional Staff Award of Excellence included Dr. Lauren O’Malley, Dr. Matthew Myatt, Dr. Shazia Ambreen, Dr. Nancy Kumar and Dr. Jaspreet Sian.
Stevenson Memorial Hospital congratulated all nominees and award recipients, thanking staff and professional staff for their continued commitment to providing care close to home.
