Nottawasaga OPP made an arrest recently after their Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) system detected an unauthorized licence plate on a vehicle.
An officer stopped a pickup truck at around 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1st while on patrol along County Road 1 in Adjala-Tosorontio Township.
Following the traffic stop, the Orangeville driver was charged with:
- using a licence plate not authorized for the vehicle
- operating a vehicle without insurance
- failing to surrender an insurance card
- failing to apply for a permit after becoming the owner
- driving without a validated permit
- driving with no validation on the licence plate
- insecure load
- operating an unsafe vehicle
- obstructing a licence plate
- failing to surrender a vehicle permit
