Barrie Police need help identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for two overnight break-and-enters at local businesses.
Officers responded to a restaurant on Bell Farm Road at around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd after an alarm notified the owner of a break-in. Investigators determined the suspect entered and exited through a locked rear door before fleeing the area. Nothing was reported stolen.
Police, including the K9 unit, searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. During the search, officers recovered a blue and black backpack containing several tools, including side cutters and a nail puller.
A short time later, officers responded to a second break-and-enter at a nearby business near St. Vincent Street. Investigators believe the same suspect forced entry through a locked side door before leaving. Surveillance footage from the second incident matched the individual seen at the restaurant.
The suspect is described by police as:
- male
- roughly 5’10” tall
- wearing a green ball cap, light-grey zip-up hoodie, dark grey sweatpants, and grey/black running shoes with white soles
