Canadian Forces Base Borden has a new commander following a change of command ceremony held this week.
Colonel Adam Moore officially assumed command of Canadian Forces Base Borden and the Military Personnel Generation Training Group (MPGTG) from Colonel Melissa Ramessar during a ceremony overseen by Brigadier-General Nickolas Roby, Commander of the Military Personnel Generation Group.
Moore will lead the Canadian Armed Forces’ largest training base. An infantry officer, he has previously served on deployments to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Afghanistan, and Iraq.
Ramessar, who has led CFB Borden and MPGTG since July 2024, has been appointed as the Canadian Army Logistics Staff Officer in Ottawa.
CFB Borden, established in 1916, trains an average of 20,000 military personnel each year. The base employs approximately 3,250 military members and 1,500 civilians, while MPGTG oversees seven training establishments across Canada, including three located at CFB Borden.
