Bradford West Gwillimbury has awarded the design-build contract for its future Civic Centre.
Following a competitive procurement process, the Town awarded the $87.9-million contract to Ledcor Design-Build (Ontario) Inc. Officials say the project remains within the budget approved by council.
The approximately 10,195-square-metre Civic Centre will include a 300-seat performing arts theatre and council chamber, a multi-sport gymnasium, fitness centre, meeting rooms and multi-purpose community spaces, as well as Town administration offices and a customer service centre.
Construction is expected to begin in October, with the project scheduled for completion by mid-2029.
