Barrie Police are investigating after a man was injured when a knife was thrown during an altercation in the downtown core.
Officers were patrolling the Bayfield Street area at around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29th when bystanders alerted them to a man suffering from an ankle wound.
Investigators learned the 42-year-old Barrie man had been involved in an altercation with another man in an alleyway between Bayfield Street and Maple Avenue. During the incident, a knife was thrown, striking the victim.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, and despite a search of the neighbourhood, was not located.
The investigation remains ongoing.
