The Gussapolooza Music Festival is returning to Cookstown this month!
This all-ages festival will feature 47 artists, nine BassWeb DJs and three stages, with performances spanning a variety of musical styles. Artists on the lineup include the headlining band Feral Minks, along with others like Suzi Kory, Propter Hawk, Already Late, and more.
As one of the main organizers for the festival, and founder of Gussapolooza, Russ Robson is looking forward to what he thinks might just be the best show they’ve ever put on.
Festival-goers can also enjoy food trucks, a beer garden, artisan vendors, a kids zone, interactive art, a health and wellness area and a creator’s convention. The festival will feature family and general camping, allowing visitors to stay for the full weekend.
It’s a big year for the band Feral Minks. After winning Artist of the Year at last year’s festival, lead singer and guitarist Kent Merriam is excited to once again hit the stage – only now as the headliners.
‘Guss’ puts a focus on independent artists every year, with Robson noting that they also provide a little something for every musical taste. The BassWeb EDM stage will feature nine DJs performing Friday and Saturday nights, with house, techno and UK garage among the styles represented.
It runs Friday, August 21st to Sunday, 23rd at the Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds in Cookstown.
Gussapolooza is open to all ages, with children 12 and under admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. Day passes and weekend passes with camping options are available. Ticket details can be found here.
