The Fire Marshal’s office is investigating a structure fire last night that sent one person to hospital for smoke inhalation and burn injuries.
Fire crews from Alliston and Beeton were dispatched to 69 Nunn Cres at 9:18 pm, along with OPP and paramedics.
“Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a well-involved fire that was extending to neighbouring homes. Crews quickly initiated an aggressive offensive attack to contain the fire and prevent further spread,” according to Chief Dan Heydon. “Firefighters also conducted a search of the residence and confirmed that no additional occupants remained inside. One occupant had safely evacuated the home prior to the arrival of emergency services. The individual was assessed and treated at the scene by Simcoe County Paramedics for smoke inhalation and burn injuries before being transported to Stevenson Memorial Hospital for further medical care.”
Fire crews remained on scene to complete extinguishment operations, overhaul, and investigation activities.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the Office of the Fire Marshal is attending.
