A 64-year-old Barrie man has been charged following a head-on collision on Fairview Road in July.
Barrie Police officers responded to the serious collision on July 13th, involving a pickup truck and a sedan. Through the investigation, the Barrie Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit determined that the sedan travelled over the centre line and into the direct path of oncoming traffic.
The driver of the sedan was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 62-year-old Barrie man, was not injured.
Fairview Road, just north of Harvie Road, was closed for more than six hours while police investigated the collision and crews completed cleanup.
On August 24th, police charged the 64-year-old sedan driver with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
