Skeletal human remains discovered in Barrie’s south end last month have been identified as William ‘Blake’ Robinson, one of two victims in a 2025 double homicide.
The remains were discovered on August 13th, in a wooded area near Anne Street South and Tiffin Street, close to a former encampment that was the site of a major police investigation.
Barrie Police now confirm the remains belong to Robinson, who was 45-years-old at the time of his death. The second victim was 41-year-old David Cheesequay.
Last summer, police arrested an individual in connection with the case. The accused remains in custody and faces several criminal charges related to the deaths and dismemberment of the two victims.
When the remains were first discovered, police said they were investigating the discovery as a separate incident from the double homicide. The remains were sent to the Center of Forensic Sciences for identification, while the OPP Urban Containment Rescue Team assisted with a search for additional evidence in the water.
The investigation is ongoing.
